Nate made me love him more (didn’t think it was possible) with his POV in GRIMM CONSEQUENCES!
GRIMM CONSEQUENCES takes place shortly after the first book in the series, RED and gives us a glimpse into Nate Grimm’s past and his relationship with Tess (Red). We learn more about his character, including his life as a Reaper and the sacrifices he’s made and continues to make out of love for Tess. I usually expect the male POV to be a bit more rushed when it comes to love and relationships but was pleasantly surprised by Nate’s passionate voice.
In my opinion, Detective/Reaper Nate Grimm was the break out star of RED. His charisma and easy going personality won me over in just a couple of pages so I was thrilled to learn more about him in this novella. I love a hero who is not afraid to show his vulnerability and Nate does that without losing his alpha status. Nate’s dark past as a Reaper could have turned him into a broken, tortured hero, but he manages to hold on to some of his humanity when he first meets Tess, which in turn saves him from that path. When his newfound happiness with Tess is threatened, Nate must face his Reaper past in order to save the woman he loves. The intense love and devotion he has for Tess is unfaltering and that’s what makes him a swoon worthy hero for me.
Kate SeRine’s fairy tale world with a touch of the dark side just keeps getting better!
GRIMM CONSEQUENCES is the perfect follow up to the first installment and pulls you right in with plenty of action and suspense. The phenomenal character development and creative word building are just two of the many reasons SeRine’s Transplanted Tales has become one of my top ten favorite UF series. I love Nate’s character and this this novella was a great way to get to reacquainted with my latest book boyfriend!
*I highly recommend reading this series in order to avoid spoilers and any confusion.
